COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tier 1 Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Institute officially celebrated the grand opening of the new Tier 1 Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art outpatient facility designed to bring advanced surgical care closer to home for patients across the Upper Cumberland region.
“Today marks an exciting milestone for our physicians, staff and the entire Upper Cumberland community,” said Dr. Joe Jestus, neurosurgeon with Tier 1 Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Institute. “This new center allows us to offer patients quicker access to surgery, a lower-cost alternative, and the convenience of care right here close to home.”
Founded in 1976 by Dr. Sam Barnes after returning from military service, Tier 1 Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Institute has grown to a team of 15 physicians specializing in orthopedics and neurosurgery. The group also offers in-house physical therapy, radiology and MRI services – making the new surgery center a natural next step in providing comprehensive care.
The practice recognized and thanked local veterans, Dr. Sam Barnes, Dr. James McKinney and Dr. Brian Huff for their service, as well as the CRMC administration and board, city council, W&O Construction, local contractors and banks, and our partners at Campbell Clinic for their essential roles in the project’s success.
