Tier 1 Welcomes Interventional Pain Management Specialist David Burstedt, MD, PT

COOKEVILLE – Tier 1 Orthopedic is proud to welcome Dr. David Burstedt, MD, PT, an interventional pain management specialist, to our team of physicians.

After earning his master’s degree in physical therapy at Idaho State University, Dr. Burstedt completed his medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine and his anesthesiology residency at Baylor Scott & White. He then completed a pain management fellowship at University of Utah Health.

As a physical therapist, he obtained certification to evaluate and treat neck and back pain using the McKenzie Method. Dr. Burstedt is trained in both basic and advanced image-guided interventional procedures for acute and chronic spine and joint pain. Treatments include epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation and sacroiliac joint injections. Advanced procedures include kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation.

Additionally, Dr. Burstedt offers procedures to treat migraine headaches, complex regional pain syndrome and cancer pain. He recognizes the importance of a multidisciplinary treatment team and anticipates working closely with referring providers, physical therapists and psychologists to reduce pain and improve function in his patients.
